Pencil Bow Crochet Pattern

🧵 Materials

  • Yarn: 3mm yarn (pink, black, gray, yellow, and beige)
  • Hook: 3mm hook
  • Other: 7mm wide black ribbon, 6cm alligator hair clip, Scissors, Round-point needle, Hot or cold silicone glue.

I. Main Bow Pieces (In Yellow)

Piece 1 (The Large Bow Loop)

(Worked in rows)

  1. 32 ch. Knit in the second ch. from the hook, 31 sc. 1 ch. and turn the work.
  2. Rounds 2-8: BLO. 7 rounds of 31 sc. 1 ch. and turn the work. (Note: On round 8 it is no longer necessary to make ch. or turn the work.)
  3. Cut the yarn long enough to join the ends and frown (gather/cinch) the center.

Piece 2 (The Pencil Body Base)

(Worked in rows)

  1. 16 ch. Knit in the second ch. from the hook, 15 sc. 1 ch. and turn the work.
  2. Rounds 2-8: BLO. 7 rounds of 15 sc. 1 ch. and turn the work. (Note: On round 8 it is no longer necessary to make ch. or turn the work.)
  3. Cut the yarn long enough to frown (gather/cinch) the second piece (this will be the central knot later) and sew the bow later, when you finish the eraser and point.

II. Pencil Point (Attached to One End of Piece 2)

(Attach Beige yarn to one end of Piece 2.)

Change to black color by incorporating the yarn. Finish off the beige yarn, hide the thread and cut off the excess.

Fasten off, hide the yarn and cut the excess.

III. Pencil Eraser & Ferrule (Attached to the Other End of Piece 2)

Pencil Ferrule (Gray)

  1. In gray: 13 ch. Knit in the second ch. from hook 12 sl st.
  2. Glue the piece to the first round of the eraser with silicone and hide the threads.

Pencil Eraser (Pink)

(In Pink, incorporate the yarn at the other end of Piece 2.)

  1. 9 sc. 1 ch. and turn the work.
  2. Rounds 2-5: 4 rows of 9 sc. 1 ch. and turn the work.
  3. R6: 1 dec. 5 sc. 1 dec. | (7) |
  4. Fasten off, hide the yarn and cut the excess.

IV. Finishing the Bow

  1. Cut 10cm of ribbon and glue one end with cold or hot silicone on the back of the small bow piece (Piece 2).
  2. Turn it over and then glue the alligator hair clip with more silicone, while opening the clip.
  3. Wrap the ribbon around the center of the bow where the clip is glued.
  4. When you finish wrapping, cut the excess, glue the end with silicone, and your Pencil Bow is ready.
